We’ve scoured Durban to find you the best places to take mom this Mother’s Day.

1) Melodic Mother’s Day

It’s almost a Durban tradition to head to the Botanic Gardens on Mother’s Day and wile away a beautiful afternoon while being entertained by top South African talent. 2016 is no different, as Old Mutual Music at the Lake brings us Arno Carstens, accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. There will also be a Kidzone set up to keep them entertained. Pack your picnic basket, bring a blanket and enjoy a melodic Mother’s Day afternoon.

2) Cake and coffee

So Whipped, the epic coffee and cake spot at Gateway Theatre of Shopping, is putting a rather delicious spin on Mother’s Day bouquets. Instead of ordering flowers for your mom, you can place your order for a cupcake bouquet, with six beautifully hand crafted cupcakes for her to feast upon. If you’re taking mom out for a special Mother’s Day shopping spree, pop in to So Whipped for a quick coffee and decadent treats.

3)  Mother’s Day High Tea

Endless Horizons, the award-winning boutique hotel located along Umhlanga Rocks Drive, is hosting a Mother’s Day High Tea from noon till 3pm today. With a mix of sweet and savoury treats on offer, you and mom can enjoy them while looking out over the sparkling Indian Ocean.

4) Pink and Pearl

The Dr Thandeka Mazibuko Foundation will be hosting a Pink and Pearl Mother’s Day Brunch at Coastlands Hotel in Musgrave. A fundraising event that also aims to highlight Cancer awareness. Tickets to this sophisticated event with a purpose can be purchased through Computicket.
