The four travelled separately to the "city of angels" as guests of BET movement Black Girls Rock - something they have all been part of since last year.

"Preparing for tomorrow, international interviews galore. Looking forward to making LA my second home. Let your work speak for itself," Mngoma posted on Friday.

"My LA digs feeling more like home as my wardrobe is all in formation for my #BETWeekend thanks to my LA assistant @DeztinyAshley for making my life so easy here," Mbatha posted, alongside photos of clothes and accessories.

The activities, which started on Thursday, included them watching live comedy with US comics Mike Epps and Katt Williams on stage at the Staples Centre; they also attended a concert featuring rappers Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz at the same venue, and partied up a storm at the posh LA spot Club Novo.

Mngoma will be covering the red carpet for BET Africa, and Matheba will host the BET International Global Glitz & Glam stage.

Tonight's main awards will include performances by Stevie Wonder, Young Thug, Usher, Alicia Keys and Maxwell. Presenters will include Jamie Foxx and Spike Lee. The show, which will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, will be broadcast on BET (DStv channel 129) on Tuesday at 7pm.
