They say lies have short legs. They’ve also run out of time, or so it would seem when it comes to this Mampara.

He was destined to go down in history as one of the pioneers of mobile phone technology in South Africa. But now he will be remembered as a greedy executive who lied in a bid to prevent “the small guy” from claiming his rightful due. In his book, Second is Nothing, this Mampara claimed that he was the one who invented the Please Call Me service after seeing security guards struggling to communicate with each other as they had no airtime.

As everyone now knows, it was all a lie, aimed at robbing the service’s inventor, former Vodacom employee Nkosana Makate. This Mampara has no shame.
