Fear not, Nando's fans, the chicken restaurant is not closing in the UK. As the pound plunged and the world grappled with the geopolitical implications of Brexit, social media users were fretting over what it meant for their beloved fast-food chain. The panic was sparked by a blog post that claimed: "Panic has set in across Britain after the popular Portuguese restaurant chain announced it will close every restaurant with immediate effect Friday morning if Britain votes to leave the EU."Although the chain serves food with a Portuguese theme, the franchise is South African.Claiming the tax on food would rise if Britain left the EU, the post also said people were stockpiling favourites such as peri-peri chicken. The response on Twitter was swift. "Oi Nandos, I hear you're shutting because we left the EU. Say it ain't true, because a guy gotta have his protein fix," one user said. The chain quickly reassured people: "No need to worry, Nando's is here to stay. There is no truth in any rumours suggesting otherwise."..
