Cape Town has been chosen as the luxury city destination in Africa and the Middle East for the second year in a row.

The Luxury Travel Awards‚ made by Luxury Travel Guide‚ recognise excellence in the affluent travel and tourism industry.

And it is luxury and affluence that impresses the selectors. The guide points out that Camps Bay houses Leonardo DiCaprio and “we loved the … celebrity packed hillside suburbs”‚ the “fantastic shopping” and “the leafy suburbs”.

To be fair‚ the guide also loved the glorious sunshine and natural beauty‚ Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden with its unique flora and the Boomslang raised wooden walkway‚ and the beaches.

The aquarium at the waterfront was described as world-class and the luxury Aquila Private Game Reserve as remarkable.

If you don’t fall into the income bracket that can afford luxury‚ don’t despair because Cape Town has much to offer that isn’t pricey
