MARTIN Kaymer of Germany completed back-to-back victories on the European Tour by winning the £3-million Scottish Open yesterday.

The 24-year-old, winner of the French Open last weekend, fired a closing two-under 69 to finish at 15 under for the tournament and claim the £500000 winner's cheque by two shots.

France's Raphael Jacquelin (66) and overnight leader Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (72) tied for second place.

Australia's Adam Scott underlined his return to form with a 66 to share fourth place with Denmark's Soren Kjeldsen, but it was a miserable day for Retief Goosen.

The South African had started his final round one shot adrift of Fernandez-Castano and took the overall lead after back-to-back birdies on the 5th and 6th.

But the two times US Open champion collapsed in spectacular fashion, dropping six shots in the space of five holes from the 7th to fall out of contention.

He ended with a 73 and tied for sixth place with American Nick Watney, who shot 67.

South Africans Richard Sterne and Ernie Els had good showings, finishing tied 11th and tied 13th respectively.

Sterne finished with a level par 71 to end on eight-under par.

Els, fighting to find some form before the Open Championship starting on Thursday, shot a 72 to end on seven-under. - AFP
