A Taiwanese teenager died after spending 40 hours playing an online game in an internet cafe.

The 18-year-old, only known by his surname Chuang, booked a private room on Sunday and spent nearly two days without eating, playing Diablo III.

After being found by an attendant, Chuang took a few steps and collapsed. He died soon after being rushed to hospital.

It is suspected that his death was the result of cardiovascular problems brought on by the fact that Chuang had been sitting down for such a long time playing the popular game.

According to media reports, another Taiwanese man was found in February, slumped in a chair facing a computer with his arms still reaching out for the keyboard after playing for 23 hours.
