A showgirl turned politician who has become an embarrassment to Silvio Berlusconi's hopes for re-election is reportedly demanding 1-million euros for her resignation.

Nicole Minetti, whose mother is a British dance instructor in Rimini on the Adriatic coast, was summoned to Berlusconi's home near Milan for talks, as pressure grew on her to leaveher regional assembly of Lombardy post.

Minetti is reportedly demanding a presenting role on one of the TV channels owned by Berlusconi's Mediaset empire, or 1-million euros, before she resigns .

She is involved in a trial in Milan in which she is accused of procuring prostitutes for his "bunga bunga" sex parties.

The trial is related to the one in which Berlusconi is accused of abuse of office and paying for sex with an under-age prostitute.
