DA record speaks for itself: iLIVE

In response to the letter from A Doubtful DA Voter ("Will DA do better?", yesterday), the DA is already doing better in Mogale City, and specifically in Soul City, where the party lost to the ANC by a mere 100 votes in the most recent elections.
The party's reputation for delivery and its track record of community engagement are directly linked to this success.
Despite not winning this ward, the DA allocated a PR councillor to this area to engage with the community and ensure that issues are fed back to council. Councillor Girly Kubayi has maintained regular contact with her constituents, even during the recent service delivery protests in the area. ANC ward councillor Susan Selaole's house was burnt to the ground by residents.
The largest DA branch in the area is in Soul City, which includes Tudor Shaft. This branch currently boasts more than 200 members.
This is a testimony to our track record of engagement with issues close to the heart of the community. I also personally participated in the painting and upgrading of a creche in the Soul City area on Mandela Day last month.
The DA takes Mogale City seriously.
We will continue to strive for a better life for all South Africans, including in Mogale City. Watch this space.
