Fashion designer Nelly Aboagye talks about living in Accra, Ghana

What makes your city unique?

Definitely the warm and hospitable people.

Tell us about one secret wonder about your city that a tourist wouldn't know?

Go where the locals go. These places might seem anti-touristy, but they are fun and welcoming.

Your best form of entertainment in your town?

Football and nightlife in the clubs.

Where's the best place to eat and to drink?

Il Cavaliere Pazzo, an Italian restaurant . For authentic Ghanaian food try Asanka Locals Chop Bar, and for a drink go to a pub called Republic.

What can you get in your town that you can't get anywhere else?

The food, like fufu, a soft ball of cassava or yam. It's very distinctive and you can't get it anywhere other than in Ghana.

What do you miss when you're not at your town?

Roadside stalls at night, like Black Root Fast Food.

Which is your favourite part of your city?

Makola Market is colourful. Also the nice beaches.

What is the place you must see before you leave?

The National Museum.

What should a traveller avoid in your city?

Accra is pretty safe, but there are pickpockets, so don't carry too much cash.

Last week Aboagye showed her label Duaba Serwa at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa
