Your word is our Bond - enter and stand to win

Times LIVE | 26 November, 2012 00:30
Sean Connery started off the longest-running film franchise, playing James Bond in 'Dr No'

Since Sean Connery first played the character of Ian Fleming's fictional British Secret Service agent there have been another five James Bond actors. Daniel Craig is the latest, and some would argue, the hottest, to fill 007's shoes. He appears in the franchise's 23rd instalment, Skyfall .

We want to know who your favourite Bond is. Is it Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, or Craig?

Though only six actors have played James Bond, there have been countless Bond girls.

Apparently, Bond has slept with 52 women - but can't always trust them. They are, without fail, beautiful, intrepid and scantily clad .

Who can forget the bikini-clad Ursula Andress emerging from the sea in the first Bond film, Dr No ?

They have been either damsels in distress or villainesses not to be trifled with. Many believe Honor Blackman played the definitive Bond girl - Pussy Galore, inGoldfinger -but who is your favourite Bond girl?

To remind yourself of the various incarnations of Bond and the women who made his heart race, see the links below. Then send us the name of your favourite James Bond and Bond Girl, with the answer to the following question: What is the latest Bond movie? Send these with your name, address and contact number to tellus@thetimes.co.za, with "Bond" in the subject line.

You'll stand a chance of winning a copy of The John Lennon Letters, edited by Hunter Davies and published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. The competition closes on November 28.

We will announce the winner of the book and the result of the poll on Friday.
