Malema's political funeral

The bell has finally sounded for Julius Malema. Yesterday, the national executive committee of the ANC Youth League said all of its efforts to reverse Malema's expulsion had failed and the matter was now closed.

"We accept and respect the outcome of the [ANC] national conference, thus bringing the matter to finality," it said.

In December, Malema wrote a letter asking for his presidency back, but ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe rejected its arrival as too late .

Malema's old rival Pule Mabe was yesterday reinstated as the youth wing's treasurer-general.

Mabe was removed from his position in May last year following a vote of no confidence.

The ANC and ANC Youth League met last week to discuss issues within the league.

"The national executive committee continues to grapple with the critical question of the capacity of the ANC Youth League's leadership to rebuild the organisation and unite all youth behind the vision of the ANC," the youth wing said.

Acting ANC Youth League president Ronald Lamola, acting secretary Kenetswe Mosenogi and Mabe said yesterday in Pretoria it had decided to allow the ruling party to intervene in its operations.

Said Lamola: "The [committee] resolved to subject itself to the guidance of the ANC."

Until yesterday talk within the league had centred on convening a national general council at which branches would vote to replace expelled leaders Malema and Sindiso Magaqa.

Some within the league argued that this would stave off attempts by the ANC to take over control of the league.

But Mabe and Lamola said the league's leadership issues would be resolved only after deliberations with senior ANC leaders.

Mabe had previously been punted as a possible candidate to lead the independent review of the league's structures and operations. But this could be tricky given that Mabe is a member of both the ANC's and the youth wing's national executive committees. - Additional reporting Olebogeng Molatlhwa and Sapa

I say good riddance, this boy has been making so much noise in the guise of fitghting for the poor while he was busy emptying the coffers of the Limpopo government to enhance his lifestyle. But he is only one in a million.

This is a lesson to all young people that wish to be leaders of society in future that education and respect to all people young and old is very important. Mr Malema shame was poisoned by people who used him to achieve their agendas. I hope the next President of the ANCYL will learn from Malema's mistake and build this organisation to a the highest point. I repeat again that the branches of the Youth League must endorse a President and leaders that are educated because it is a key to leadership. People like current Acting President Lamola who is lawyer and other young graduate must be recruited to the ANCYL not sidelined for uneducated persons. This is coming from heart.

Eish Julius, it seems you now have something in common with Jesus Christ. We hailed you, now we're nailing you. Life isn't fair for the used comrade. I'm wondering whether this was what JZ meant when he said the ANC would rule till Jesus' second coming. Ah it must be a sign. The second coming is almost gone and we didn't notice its importance.

Did JZ tell a lie?

There has been no sign of Jesus Christ in the W Cape, where the ANC does not rule.

Is JZ a false prophet perhaps?

This demagogue leech vowed to lead ''this ANC'' in the near future? Of course the ANC is very unpredictable, if a penis can be elected to lead a country, why not a human being like a fatso lunatic ''loud speaker''? Surely a human being must be far much better than a penis which is leading?

Motlanthe's political school is under ANC, and it's for the ANC cadres. Remember this idiot does not belong to ANC anymore. He now belongs to the political wilderness, somewhere in Limpopo.
