BREAKTHROUGH OF THE WEEK

RESEARCHERS have found that after smoking bans in Belgium, the prevalence of births before 37 weeks went down - a trend that did not exist prior to the bans.

ONE THING FOR YOUR HEALTH

A US study, published in the journal Injury Prevention, showed that motorcyclists aged 60 and older are three times more likely to be severely injured in a crash than younger bikers.

NUTRITION BITE

A recent study has shown that kids who eat fast food three or more times a week are likely to have more severe allergic asthma, hay fever and eczema.

MOST BIZARRE

Some people believe suspension - being hung up by hooks embedded in the skin - can decrease stress and give feelings of euphoria and meditation. Hooks are inserted at points in the body, under the fattiest layer of skin.
