Gail gets new role

Actress Gail Mabalane - formerly Nkoane - now belongs to the same family as US stars Ellen Degeneres, Carrie Underwood and Thandie Newton.

Well, sort of.

The Kimberley-born beauty, who told True Love magazine in November that some overzealous suitors offered to drink her used bath water because of her enviable beauty, was yesterday revealed as South Africa's first ever ambassador for Olay's Even & Smooth range.

The former Idols SA contestant will appear in print and TV advertisements for the skin care brand soon.

She said yesterday: "I've always been particular about what I'm out there for, so I will only step out if it makes business sense."
