Police investigating international fugitive Radovan Krejcir dropped a bombshell on him when they charged him with conspiracy to commit murder, linking him to a plan to kill a top crime intelligence officer.

The additional charge was laid against Krejcir when he appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Krejcir is currently fighting a number of cases against him in courts across Gauteng.

The latest charge, confirmed by police yesterday, was laid as investigations into his alleged criminal underworld dealings intensify.

Krejcir is standing trial with three Hawks members in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court for assault and attempted murder.

The new charge was brought against him and his alleged police snitch, crime intelligence officer Sergeant Nandi Nkosi.

Nkosi, according to police sources, is believed to have provided information to four of Krecjir's alleged hit squad members on the movements of crime intelligence officer, Colonel Nkosana "Killer" Ximba, andprivate forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan.

A source said Krejcir was surprised when he was brought before court with Nkosi and appeared alongside his co-accused Owen Serero, Serero's girlfriend, Zodumiso Biyele, Siboniso Miya and Jacob Nare.

"He definitely was not expecting this," said the policeman.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale said: "The charge relates to the planned murders of Ximba and O'Sullivan."

O'Sullivan has been assisting police in their multiple investigations into Krejcir and his alleged criminal underworld activities.

This assistance is said to include information on Krejcir's alleged involvement in the kidnapping and attempted murder of an East Rand resident, for which he is standing trial in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court.

Krejcir, businessman Desai Luphondo, Miya and Hawks members, warrant officers Sam "Saddam" Maropeng, Ian Mofokeng and Jeff Nthoroane, were arrested for the attempted murder and kidnapping of the brother of one of Krecjir's associates.

The crimes allegedly occurred in June, when Krejcir's associate apparently disappeared with 25kg of tik which was destined for Australia.
