SABC in for Hlaudi weather

Hlaudi Motsoeneng has been confirmed as the chief operations officer of the SABC.

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi announced the appointment on Tuesday night after receiving a recommendation by the SABC board.

Motsoeneng had been acting chief operations officer of the corporation.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela had recommended that the SABC fill the "long-outstanding vacant post" with a qualified permanent incumbent. She found that Motsoeneng had lied about his qualifications, including claiming that he had passed matric.
