The Gautrain will run normally this morning following an 11th-hour wage settlement that averted a strike.

In terms of the agreement between Gautrain management and the United Transport and Allied Trade Union, drivers and station staff will receive an 8.5% wage increase .

Gautrain's Errol Braithwaite said yesterday: "We are so pleased that an agreement has been reached, obviously primarily in the interests of our customers, who we would hate to inconvenience. [We] must thank both the union and management involved in the negotiations [for moving] their positions."
