The Economic Freedom Fighters warned that the ANC had organised hooligans who were meant to "deal with the EFF" in parliament this week.

When the EFF released a statement, the ANC, through its chief whip's office, said the party was "imagining things, and this is a figment of their imagination".

Yet soon afterwards, members of the ANC were reportedly singing "shoot Julius Malema" outside parliament, demanding to be allowed into the chambers. The police had to escort them in case they unleashed the planned hooliganism or disruption against MPs.

The ANC must live with the reality that the EFF is in parliament both by law and popular will. Organising the police, military or hooligans to deal with us will not work. The ANC must face us in the benches of parliament through robust discourse.

The EFF will continue to engage on all issues.
