The SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has moved back into the black after posting a R6.27-million surplus for the year ending March 31 2014.
The sports umbrella body, comprising all the country's national federations, had recorded a deficit of R4.36-million in the previous 12 months.
The audited financial statements, which were released at the Sascoc AGM on Saturday, showed that revenue topped R125-million, which was down on R154-million previously.
More than R100-million of its income came from lottery grants, with the government contributing a further R10.65-million and sponsors the rest.
Operating costs were listed at R99-million, which included R12.6m in funding for the country's top Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
Sascoc employees were paid nearly R15-million, with chief executive Tubby Reddy the highest-paid, with an annual package of R2.19-million.
Other employees listed were the chief financial officer (R1.37-million), the general manager high performance (R1.13-million) and the general manager operations and national federation support (R1.12-million).
Sascoc's board members were paid allowances of R2.4-million, with president Gideon Sam receiving R277361, vice- presidents Hajera Kajee and Les Williams R224885 each and the other nine R187404 each.
Sascoc's investment arm, Gride, recorded a R27-million comprehensive profit.
