The SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has moved back into the black after posting a R6.27-million surplus for the year ending March 31 2014.

More than R100-million of its income came from lottery grants, with the government contributing a further R10.65-million and sponsors the rest.

Operating costs were listed at R99-million, which included R12.6m in funding for the country's top Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Sascoc employees were paid nearly R15-million, with chief executive Tubby Reddy the highest-paid, with an annual package of R2.19-million.

Other employees listed were the chief financial officer (R1.37-million), the general manager high performance (R1.13-million) and the general manager operations and national federation support (R1.12-million).
