Bidvest Wits will participate in next year's CAF Confederation Cup, ending the uncertainty over a full house of teams representing South Africa in next year's continental competition.

The Students will be joined in the field by Nedbank Cup winners Orlando Pirates.

CEO Jose Ferreira said they would submit the necessary paperwork by next week's deadline.

He said they would use the cup to offer invaluable experience to their first-team players and also to blood some youngsters. After discussion with coach Gavin Hunt they settled for a mix of regulars and promising up-and-coming youngsters. The latter would be given good exposure regarding the travel and exertion of the pan-African competition.

But he cautioned it would be tough going for the club in the last three months of the domestic season.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs will participate in the CAF Champions League.
