A few weeks ago, few would have given Polokwane City a chance of ending Kaizer Chiefs' unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership.

After a horror start to the campaign, City have found good form and cannot be ruled out of causing an upset when they face Amakhosi at Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight.

Nine points from the last three matches have lifted City from the relegation zone, and there is belief in the camp that they can upset Chiefs, who have an 11-point lead at the summit but have found wins increasingly hard to come by of late.

Amakhosi have not dropped points away from home this season, but City's recent form - which has seen them beat BidvestWits, Free State Stars and Mpumalanga Black Aces away from home - has given coach Kosta Papic a lot of confidence going into tonight's clash.

"They are the favourites going into this game, but we are not afraid of them," Papic said yesterday. "They are playing very good football and they are winning their matches, which means they have the upper hand. But we are not going to sit back. We are going to attack and play our style of football.

"We are in good form at the moment, but we should remember that we have not done anything, so we are not getting excited."

City, who are in 11th place on the log, have enjoyed a good run on the road and Papic said he would tell his players to treat the clash against Chiefs like an away game.

"It will be like a home game for Chiefs because they have the supporters and because of that I believe they have an advantage," the coach said.

Chiefs will be without key midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who has to serve a one-match suspension after receiving four yellow cards. He is likely to be replaced by George Maluleka.
