Bundesliga club Wolfsburg will hold a training camp in Cape Town next month.

The camp will be hosted by Ajax Cape Town before the two sides play each other on January 10 as part of the Cape Town Friendship Cup.

Dutch first division side Zwolle are also expected to play in the training competition, which sees European teams take advantage of mid-season breaks to prepare for the second half of their campaigns.

Ajax face more than a month without PSL action due to the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Wolfsburg, who have stars such as Brazil's Luiz Gustavo and Belgium's Kevin de Bruyne, are due to host training sessions that will be open to the public during their visit.

Ajax Cape Town marketing director Alexi Efstathiou said the club was proud to host a team as big as Wolfsburg.

"We'll be more than happy to host any other teams in the future as well. We've got world-class facilities.

"With this Ajax Cape Town gets another opportunity to be exposed internationally.

"It also gives us an opportunity to forge relationships with European clubs other than Ajax Amsterdam and to measure our players against world-class opposition."
