Several luxury fashion brands have hired celebrities to sell their wares this year - be it Joan Didion, 80, or Justin Bieber, 20.

French fashion house Céline chose Didion, author of The Year of Magical Thinking, in part because she began her career as a writer at American Vogue in the late 1950s. Only 11 when Céline launched in 1945, Didion personally saw the brand evolve to become one of the most successful fashion houses in the world.

Calvin Klein chose Bieber as the face of their 2015 underwear campaign, adding body hair, a photoshop-enhanced " package" and a gorgeous Dutch model, Lara Stone, with her hands all over him.

Klein has previously used ''Marky Mark" Wahlberg, Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan and footballer Freddie Ljungberg in their ads .

Named the power couple of 2014, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian - or Kimye - are the new faces for Balmain Paris.

Other celebrities who have been introduced by fashion brands as faces for their 2015 campaigns are: Madonna for Versace, Nicki Minaj for Roberto Cavalli, Solange Knowles for Eleven Paris, Julia Roberts for Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2015 campaign when the director Riccardo Tisci previously had neo-soul singer Erykah Badu as the face of the 2014 Summer/Spring campaign.

Also starring in a new fashion campaign is Jack O'Connell, the 20-year-old star of The Fault In Our Stars.

He poses for Prada's new menswear collection.

The 2015 model faces are:

  • Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss for Marc Jacobs,
  • Naomi Campbell for Agent Provocateur,
  • Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn for Burberry,
  • Cara Delevingne for DKNY, and Gigi Hadid for Guess.
