Mafikizolo is bringing out the big guns for their first nationwide tour to promote their award-winning comeback album, Reunited.

The album helped them scoop eight SA Music Awards at last year's ceremony in Sun City, including Album of the Year, Duo or Group of the Year, Best Pop Album and Best Collaboration.

Fresh off their successful tour of the UK, the stylish Afro-pop pair of Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe said now is the perfect time to give back to their South African fans - almost 18 years after they first joined musical forces.

Fans have been promised a 16-piece band, 20 dancers and a star-studded list of special guests, including rappers AKA and Cassper Nyovest.

Dr Malinga and Uhuru will join the show in Tshwane because it is their home town.

Nigerian pop sensation Davido - who collaborated with Mafikizolo on Tchelete (Goodlife) - and Tanzanian bongo star Diamond are also part of the lineup.

Mafikizolo said the best way to give back to fans was by partnering with the Nelson Mandela Foundation - 10% of all "door takings" will be donated to the foundation.

Sello Hatang, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, said the funds would go towards furthering Madiba's vision to "build a better South Africa".

Kgosinkwe tweeted: "This is not a festival or a bash. It's going to be a well-produced celebration."

Dubbed the "Edu-Tourment show", the duo said the tour was also a chance for them to learn more about their country.

The Khona hit-makers will perform in six cities across South Africa.

The tour kicks off in Tshwane on March 14 and is followed by dates in Polokwane (March 28), Cape Town (April 4), Bloemfontein (April 11) and Port Elizabeth (April 18).

The six-week tour wraps up in Johannesburg on Freedom Day, April 27, at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Johannesburg tickets are a bargain - just R50 - compared to other cities where the cost is R200. The more expensive shows are billed as smaller and more intimate.
