He's been teasing to release his highly anticipated debut album Family Values for what feels like aeons, but rapper and exalted producer Riky Rick is finally done playing second fiddle. The album drops tomorrow, and will signal whether he has claim to his moniker of "Boss Zonke".Rick has released mixed tapes and worked with some of the most prominent names in the hip-hop genre at the moment, including multiple awardwinner Cassper Nyovest.Rick said he took a while to release the album because he wanted people to take note and recognise his work first. He promises to take fans on a journey of his life and experiences in this cut-throat industry. He told The Times yesterday: "I chose to call it Family Values as this is a passionate reflection of my evolution as producer and rapper."A lot has happened in my life both professionally and personally and this album narrates those changes through music."Rick has come under fire for featuring his baby boy Maik on the cover along with him à la US rapper, The Game. But he says he doesn't lend an ear to those critics, calling them "ignorant".The KwaMashu-bred star said he wants his fans, through the album, to see him for who he really is and not be afraid to do the same. He's kept them updated on his Tumblr page. He's regularly posting pictures of himself and his family (he has a large tattoo on his stomach of "Family Values" in an elaborate font), and even anecdotes about his rise.He said: "Kids will be listening to my album and ... I want them to talk about their reality and be accepted," he said.He said the album features Black Motion, OkMalumKoolKat and Cassper Nyovest, and other artists. "I enjoyed working with [them] ... it was an easy process. I have worked with them before."Following the album debut the rapper promised a nationwide tour later this month and next month...
