Chilean miners' tale to hit screens

The story of the 33 Chilean miners trapped underground for 69 days in 2010 is finally set for the big screen treatment. The 33 is directed by Patricia Riggen and stars Antonio Banderas, Lou Diamond Phillips and Juliette Binoche. Of course, because this is Hollywood, everyone speaks English. You can watch the trailer on YouTube. It's hitting the circuit in Chile in August but has no US release date yet.Ari Folman, who made waves with his debut animated feature Waltz with Bashir in 2008, had a disappointing second outing with last year's strange hybrid, The Congress, which combined live action and animation and starred Robin Wright.Now Folman has returned to animation for a drama about the life of Anne Frank, which will combine 2D animation and stop motion.Bruce Lee fans can catch a screening of the martial arts classic Fist of Fury at The Bioscope in Johannesburg on Thursday next week.
