Eight prison officers killed

The small Western Cape town of Swellendam is in mourning following a horrific crash that claimed the lives of eight Correctional Services officers yesterday. The accident occurred at about 7am on the N2 just outside the town when a truck overtook a bakkie and then collided with a minibus transporting seven officials to work at the Buffeljagsrivier correctional centre in Swellendam.All passengers and the driver of the minibus were killed, and two passengers in the bakkie seriously injured. ..
