There's a comedy recipe and Trevor Noah and Loyiso Gola know the ingredients well. As Noah returns home for what can be regarded as his South African swan song, Gola has announced that he, too, will be appearing on a TV show overseas.Gola, the Comic's Choice comic of the year last year, told his nearly 600 000 followers on Twitter yesterday that he was joining the cast of the Australian satirical show The Weekly as a correspondent. He is to record his first episode via satellite today.Gola's big break Down Under will not have any impact on his e.tv show, Late Night NewsDuring a Cliff Central interview yesterday, Gola said he had been trying to break into the international market for years and it was Noah who had provided the blueprint. Noah is to take over from Jon Stewart as the host of The Daily Show in the US."The comedy community in South Africa has always thought internationally. we just needed someone to do it the way Trevor has," said Gola.Young comedians might want to take note of how both comedians cracked it abroad. The recipe is deceivingly simple: start with tours then land a gig as a contributor.Late Night News comedian Chester Missing said: "I don't know if he [Gola] is leaving, but if he is I'll miss his big fluffy eyebrows, those things inspired me. South African comedians are blazing, wait until the world sees what we've got."An extra performance, at Montecasino tonight, has been added to Noah's Lost in Translation tour, and Loyiso Gola Live starts next month...
