Ian Grose's paintings include portraits, interiors, still life and landscape. Much of his work stems from abstraction and pattern and an ambivalence towards formalist strategy. His exhibition, Refrain, is on at the Stevenson Gallery, Johannesburg, until July 31.An exhibition, Protest: A Remonstrance, Act of Resistance, features some of South Africa's well- known artists: Vusi Beauchamp, Willem Boshoff, Kudzanai Chiurai and many others.
