Bonang seals it with a kiss

It was ladies' night at this year's MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban, with South Africa's Queen Bee Bonang Matheba and current "it girl" Boity Thulo getting tongues wagging. Metro FM DJ and television presenter Matheba, and Nigerian artist D'Banj, finally confirmed rumours that they were dating with a passionate kiss, sparking a social media frenzy. The "Koko master", D'Banj scooped the Evolution award, a new category honouring established artists.Matheba has previously dated DJ Euphonic and spent much of the year trying to convince fans that she was still single.Television presenter Thulo and her beau, hip-hop rapper Cassper Nyovest, have been more forthcoming about their mutual attraction. Ever since announcing on social media that they were dating, the two have been inseparable.Proving her loyalty to her beau, Thulo got involved in the rivalry between Nyovest and fellow rapper AKA. By chance, she presented the award for best collaboration, which went to AKA and his posse for All Eyes on Me.Contrary to the usual presenter protocol, she neglected to congratulate AKA as he joined her on stage.Nyovest scooped the award for best hip-hop artist. Most of the more-coveted awards - best female artist, best male artist, best group, best new act and song of the year - went to Nigerian artists. But the City of Durban was the real winner. KwaZulu-Natal's head of economic development, tourism and environmental affairs Desmond Golding, said: "Everybody is talking about Durban, from Nigeria to LA."The money that we put in is quite a lot but the return on the investment is a hundredfold."..
