Sony's new emoji movie will send fans dotty

With enough creativity it seems that anything can be turned into a blockbuster franchise. With The Lego Movie raising the stakes, there will now be an emoji movie that will centre on the yellow ideograms used for text and social media messaging.Sony Pictures Animation is hoping to have the same success with the production as it has had with its animated predecessors.The film is set to be co-written by Eric Siegel and Anthony Leondis.The Guardian newspaper reported that the project has already drawn interest from rival studios because emojis are public domain, which means there are no rights to purchase.With Leondis in the director's chair, it is sure to be a hit.He was behind Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Master and most recently finished the computer animated feature BOO: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations. ..
