Nkandla starts driving people slowly insane

As a mere son of the soil who is living innocently under the sun, I think it is a fact that what President Jacob Zuma did was out of order. The way forward is that Zuma must at least pay the remaining amount that does not cover security issues and he must do that without ceremony. We cannot tolerate corruption and lazy officials.Something must work.We cannot afford to be always out of order.Where is the public going to invest its trust if not in government?Where will the public get energy to vote if the very same government is doing this to the voters?Think twice, think ahead and come straight and clean.- Frans Lekgothoane, by e-mail NKANDLA will not sink Zuma because he was not a beneficiary of the R246-million. The people who benefited are the officials in the Department of Public Works, architects, consultants and contractors. These people will continue to benefit until someone has the courage to name and shame them. Who are these people? Why up to now can even The Times not reveal the names and the amounts of money each one got?- E Makhate, Pietermaritzburg WHAT a farce. It reminds me of a comment by Neddy Seagoon in The Goon Showaired on the BBC in the 1950s and 1960s.Neddy was lamenting the overspending of tax money on a public building and said: "To teach those in charge and to show that we will not tolerate this waste of money, I have ordered that the building be torn down and a new one put up at the proper price."- Gary Gower, Pinetown..
