Khune, Masango left in limbo

A clash of schedules led to yesterday's much-anticipated meeting between Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung and free agents Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango being postponed, Amakhosi spokesman Vina Maphosa said. Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Khune and winger Masango were expected to discuss their return to the club with Motaung.Sunday World reported last week that the two players were keen to renegotiate their contracts, but were told to return four days later."The meeting is not cancelled, but postponed," said Maphosa.Khune and Masango remain in the hunt for clubs with less than a week to go before the new Premier League campaign kicks off.Amakhosi confirmed yesterday that Siphiwe Tshabalala would replace Tefu Mashamaite, who is also leaving, as club captain.Here is how some Chiefs fans reacted to Tshabalala's appointment on the Times Live Facebook and Twitter pages:Tc-Stewart Maluleke: "It will be nice to be captained by one of our best, commited and loyal players."Siviwe Malotana: "Khune thinking he's some Alice In Wonderland....
