Supporters of Oscar Pistorius have taken to Twitter, calling for messages of hope to be written to him ahead of his release from prison. Pistorius is due to be released from Pretoria's Kgosi Mampuru II prison next month. He was imprisoned after being convicted of culpable homicide in the shooting of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in the Pretoria home they shared. The Support for Oscar group says it started its message board to remind people of Pistorius's achievements, "not only in sports, but also as an appreciation for his work for countless charity foundations".Its administrators, however, have warned people who have nothing nice to say about Pistorius not to write anything on the site.Supporters are asked to send messages to Pistorius in which they tell him what the word "home" means to them.Hundreds of his supporters from around the world have already heeded the call, with posts streaming in.Beverley Gerhardi wrote: "Not long. Less than a month to go Oscar - thinking of you.""Laura" said: " Dream your dreams, sweetie, and believe you can still achieve them."Heather, in the UK, who says the world is desperately in need of honourable men such as Pistorius, wrote of how her thoughts of God's blessings, as she walked through fields of lavender, turned to Pistorius."It made me sad to think of your enforced confinement ... Oscar, God willing you will soon leave the confines of prison walls and the regimes behind you ..."..
