Chung slaps down Platini

Michel Platini came under attack from another of his Fifa presidency rivals yesterday after former vice-president Chung Mong-joon branded him a protege of "cannibal" Sepp Blatter. Chung, a South Korean billionaire, confirmed he would formally announce his candidacy to replace Blatter next week with a swipe at the Uefa president, who is the overwhelming favourite for the job.The 61-year-old said: "Platini is good for football, but whether he can be a good Fifa president? I don't think so."There are several questions we can have whether Platini can symbolise a new era for Fifa or whether he is simply a protege of Blatter."President Blatter is like a cannibal eating his parents and then crying he's an orphan," Chung added: ..
