Rising Star: TiMO gets some Universal Attention

If you've been stuck in traffic recently and DJ banter has had you station hopping, chances are you've noticed the high rotation of the infectious hit single Save Me by Kempton Park's TiMO ODV. After coming into some cash, twentysomething Timothy Oude Vrielink decided to build a recording studio at home and produce music.Though the single burst onto the charts and threw the former graphic designer into the spotlight overnight, there were four years of solid graft, trial and error behind it.''I'd been sending my demos to major record labels for four years and I heard a lot of 'nos' in that time," says TiMO. "It was tough but it taught me how to be my own worst critic, which helped me improve my songs."One song caught the attention of Universal Music, and after hearing TiMO's extensive catalogue, the label signed him as producer/ artist/songwriter.Initially, his plan was to write and produce songs for other singers. But he made an impromptu decision to sing vocals with Sarah Jackson on Save Me, and the directors of the music video suggested he be the primary focus.Follow TiMO on Twitter (@TIMOODV) and Facebook (facebook.com/timoodv)..
