Pluto charts on Google SA

It's an open secret that South Africans are avid sports lovers, but maybe it's time to add amateur astronomy to the list of favoured pursuits. For most sports fans, it's every month is a sports month.But last month was particularly interesting, fans being spoilt for choice with tennis, golf, rugby, soccer, cycling and horse racing all on the agenda.A Google SA survey has shown that sport was among the most popular search terms last month, with many South Africans gripped by Wimbledon.Of the 94 sports search terms, 17 related to the premiere tennis championship.Search terms included tennis stars such as South Africa's Kevin Anderson and the returning Martina Hingis.Other frequently searched topics included the Tour de France, the women's soccer World Cup, the British Open golf tournament, the Durban July and the rugby championship.Also making the list was surfing's J-Bay Open, but for reasons unrelated to the sport - it was the duel between surfer Mick Fanning and a shark that piqued interest.Showing that South Africans have a variety of interests, other top search items were phrases such as "Pluto photos", "Pluto news" and "Nasa".News on Greece's economic crisis, Nkandla, comedian Bill Cosby and America's Sandra Bland, who died while in police custody, also interested South Africans...
