SA swimming heroes face fight for titles

South Africa's two swimming kings will battle to retain their crowns tonight. World champions Cameron van der Burgh and Chad le Clos will step onto the pool deck at the world championships in Kazan, Russia, seeded second in their races, the 50m breaststroke and 200m butterfly respectively.Van der Burgh set a short-lived world record yesterday morning, while Le Clos's 1min 54.50 was only the second-fastest of the night, behind Hungarian veteran Laszlo Cseh, winner of the other semifinal in 1:53.53 - quicker than the 1:54.32 Le Clos swam to take gold in Barcelona two years ago.Le Clos, who failed to clinch a medal in the 200m freestyle earlier in the evening, returned to the pool 90 minutes later to win his butterfly semifinal, clocking his best time since 2013. ..
