Boks won't take their pool lightly

Springbok assistant coach Johann van Graan knows they need to take each game of the Rugby World Cup seriously. He has learnt not to take anything for granted. The Boks seem assured of a quarterfinal spot, given the relative lightweights in their pool, especially with the uncertainty in Pool A with Australia, Wales and England.A tight watch has been kept on their Pool B opponents ."If you look at the history of the tournament all the teams that have gone on to win it have never lost a game. We are going in with a mindset that we must win seven out of seven matches," Van Graan said."Over the past three years, we've done our homework on our opponents. The Japanese will pose an interesting threat with their running game and Samoa will be bringing their physical backs. Scotland have their continuity game and the US have their set-piece battle, along with their different type of lineout. We are focusing on ourselves, but we are analysing them week by week."Van Graan seems to be aware of the sensitivities the Boks face with the announcement of the squad tomorrow: "We are dream givers, not dream takers. We will be very happy for the guys who are selected, and it is going to be sad for the guys who don't make it. However, that is life and that is sport."..
