In his playing days, an afro-sporting David Manuel was an explosive and elusive fullback for the Blue Bulls and Griquas. Now he is the Bulls' backline coach .He said: "I could not have asked for a better effort from the back three and the entire backline."That back three comprisesJamba Ulengo and Travis Ismaiel on the wings and the electrifying Warrick Gelant at fullback. The rest of the backline is a rejuvenated Francois Hougaard at scrumhalf, the unflappable pivot Tian Schoeman and the tough centre composition of Burger Odendaal, William Small-Smith and Dries Swanepoel.Said Manuel: "There are a couple of things we've wanted to work on - decision-making and empowering the decision-maker."The guys with the ball in hand are making better decisions and that leads to good results."It all forms part of new Bulls coach Nollis Marais's plans to bring more creativity into the game."From the beginning we made it clear that we are here to build our own legacy, our own culture," Manuel said. The Bulls will be hoping to make it four wins in a row this weekend when they take on the Griquas in Kimberley...
