Boxer fakes pregnancy test to fight

A fight that was to take place in Eastern Cape last week was called off after Boxing SA officials discovered that a pregnant boxer submitted a falsified pregnancy test so she could be allowed to enter the ring. The boxer, 26-year-old Tanzanian Lulu "Tanzanite" Kayenga, fought in Limpopo three weeks ago but the pregnancy was not detected.Kayenga submitted a handwritten pregnancy test result claiming that she was negative ahead of her fight with Nozwelethu Mathonsi, but BSA Eastern Cape manager Phakamile Jacobs became suspicious.Jacobs demanded that Kayenga go to a South African doctor for testing and when her tests returned positive, fight promoter Tando Zonke took her to a pathologist for a second opinion. The pathologist confirmed the pregnancy and Jacobs called off the fight.BSA chairman Muditambi Ravele said testing was a cornerstone of the association's rules and commended Jacobs for insisting on following procedure.Jacobs has remained alert since Limpopo boxer Lizbeth Sivhaga tested positive for a pregnancy at the weigh-in for her SA flyweight title in East London in 2012.Sivhaga submitted a falsified pregnancy test result, which was also handwritten, but the official demanded another test.She failed the test and not only was she kicked out of the tournament, she was also stripped of her title...
