Beauty and suss required to be 'The One'

The 13 women vying for the title "She's the One" will be calling lush Steyn City, north of Johannesburg, home. The She's the One show, which premieres on e.tv later this month, is Mzansi's version of America's Next Top Model meets The Apprentice. The reality show offers the women the opportunity to become an Edgars ambassador and win prizes valued at R1-million.The winner of the first season, Linda Sifumbe, won a car, cash and a trip overseas as well as access to the media industry's finest minds.One of the contestants, model and talent scout Perpetua Mbali, said she wanted the world to see her as more than just a model."In the show people will get to see the brains behind the billboard," Mbali said.But the women remained tight-lipped about the drama and intrigue viewers can expect.Cape Town actress and model Roxanne Kalie said there would be a combination of comedy and vulnerability as the women participate in challenges.The show's judging panel includes comedian Tumi Morake, former Destiny Man editor Kojo Bafoe and Edgars marketing manager Belinda Godfrey.Of the thousands of online entries, only 50 made it onto the short list.Both Kalie and Mbali said the show offered them the chance to take their careers to the next level.The competition is bound to be tough as most of the top 50 contestants are multiskilled women.Beyond that, they are strategic and media savvy...
