Durban tastes Stone's instinct for kindness

Durban social worker Jeevie Pillay's lucky catch of a bouquet led to her meeting Hollywood actress Sharon Stone at the weekend. Pillay, wife of eThekwini Municipality speaker Logie Naidoo, attended the fifth Pilosio Building Peace awards in Milan, Italy, on Saturday, where Stone was the guest of honour.The Global Peace Award went to Dr Hawa Adhi of Somalia, who runs a children's village for those affected by war.After receiving the Building Peace Medal for her humanitarian work, Stone told guests that the person who caught the bouquet she was about to throw would become a global peace ambassador.Pillay, the shortest person in the room, caught the flowers and was invited on stage."Building peace and working with children are things I am very passionate about," Pillay said...
