Isaacs throws his weight behind Urban Warriors

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town defender Dominic Isaacs believes the Urban Warriors will upset Amakhosi in the MTN8 final on Saturday and prove a team with youngsters can win trophies. The 33-year-old won his first trophy with Ajax - the Rothmans Cup in 2000 - when he was 18 and says it was a springboard to success in his career. He is hoping the young Ajax players, almost all of whom have not lifted silverware at this level, will get a taste of what it feels like to hoist a major competition trophy."The first cup I won was the Rothmans Cup. We were all involved in the BP Top 8 final defeat to Orlando Pirates three months before that and then we came back to win the Rothmans Cup."It's the same with the current group of Ajax players. They lost the Nedbank Cup final (against Mamelodi Sundowns in May) and I think they have learnt their lessons. They will want to win the MTN8 now.""But what I like about Ajax is that they are a unit. They die for one another on the pitch. There are no egos there," said Isaacs, who made his debut for National First Division side Royal Eagles at the weekend against AmaZulu.Ajax captain Travis Graham says the side hope to take advantage of Kaizer Chiefs' chopping and changing in defence and the generosity of organisers to play the final at sea level on Saturday. The midfielder adds that the pain of losing the Nedbank Cup decider to Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the last campaign is a huge spur to his side, as was the fact that for the second time in a few months they will play at the now familiar Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.Ajax lost to Sundowns on penalties after a 0-0 draw in May."We have a good bunch of strikers now and they are looking good," Graham says."This is a good time for us to play them because they [Chiefs] haven't been doing too well in defence. We will do our best to take advantage of that and it will be important to take our chances.""The last final ... we didn't know what to expect. Everybody was a bit nervous."MTN8 Final: Kaizer Chiefs v Ajax Cape Town airs from 2pm on Supersport 4..
