Dirt spreads to BMW

BMW has become entangled in the scandal over Volkswagen's diesel emission cheating. The German transport ministry said spot checks of vehicles would not be limited to Volkswagen, while BMW shares plunged after a report that a diesel version of the X3 SUV emitted more than 11 times the European limit for air pollution in a road test.The International Council on Clean Transportation - whose tipoff led US regulators to investigate VW emissions - found a gap between real-world and lab performance in the X3, Autobild magazine reported.BMW said no system in its cars responded differently to tests on the road. It said it did not manipulate or rig any emissions tests...
