Pitso digs in as boo boys bay for his blood

Pitso Mosimane may have lost his status as the Mamelodi Sundowns supporters' blue eyed boy, but the coach is adamant he can still win the PSL title with the Pretoria club this season. The fans - a section of them at least - attempted to push through the barricades at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night to confront Mosimane after the Brazilians' 3-2 premiership victory over the MTN8 champions Ajax Cape Town."I don't react because some of them were singing my name. I am the longest serving coach at this club. The rest, I leave it all to God," Mosimane said after his side moved into the top half of the table."You can't expect to be loved by everybody. We can still win the league, by the way. We are only five points behind log leaders Wits."Sundowns have had a tepid start to the season and had only managed a single win in four matches prior to hosting Ajax in Atteridgeville in midweek.A defeat, which would have been their third of the campaign, would have undoubtedly put Mosimane under immense pressure. As far as the fans are concerned, even a draw should have sealed his fate."We scored three goals against a team that has won the MTN8 and we were second on the table coming into this match," he said.Mosimane rebuffed suggestions that he'd lost the players in the dressing room."My boys fight for me and you can see that with the goals. We score more than a lot of teams. Only Orlando Pirates scored more goals than us last season," he said."We are five points behind the log leaders. I think my team can win the next three matches."Jomo Cosmos vs Mamelodi Sundowns is broadcast Sunday on SS4 from 3pm. Sunday's other televised PSL game is University of Pretoria vs Bloemfontien Celtic on SABC1 at 3pm...
