Next step, a Grammy

DJ Black Coffee has his sights set on a Grammy. Fresh from winning the breakthrough award in the DJ capital of the world, Ibiza, Spain, Black Coffee announced his next career goal at a media briefing, saying he wanted to win a Grammy."When I landed here people were still saying congratulations, but I am done."I love pushing myself and I believe we as people can grow so much more doing what we love."In Ibiza, Black Coffee also accepted the Dance Nation award on behalf of South Africa.Speaking to media at Universal Studios in Johannesburg yesterday, he said the award belonged to every South African."I always saw these awards from a distance and I never thought I would ever be part of it," he said."We South Africans are amazing people and I am trying to show how we love music and how happy we are."Black Coffee said his win would only push him further and he has superstars such as Swizz Beats and Naomi Campbell enjoying his music. H is dream was to work with American singer Sam Smith.Black Coffee's wife, Enhle Mbali, said she was proud of him and honoured to be a part of his journey."I did not have to sacrifice anything. When it comes to someone's dreams it's not a sacrifice; it was about supporting him because when I met him this is what he wanted to do," said Mbali.Black Coffee has also released his highly anticipated new album, Pieces of Me.He said the album was special for him because it had been created at a difficult emotional time in his life - while he was dealing with the loss of his father and grandmother, who had raised him...
