Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu - who is, according to his daughter, looking "quite spiffy" - will be celebrated by the City of Cape Town over three months. Special events to honour the Arch, who is 84 today, were announced yesterday by his daughter Mpho Tutu and Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille. His wife, Leah, will also be honoured. The first event is next Wednesday, when Leah celebrates her birthday at The Old Granary to signal the start of its refurbishment. De Lille will dedicate her council speech to Tutu on October 28. On December 16 there will be a reconciliation walk, a service and a concert.Mpho said Tutu was "recuperating well" after recent illness. "We hope he participates in as much as he can. As I keep reminding him, he is 84, not 48. He might not stay until the last hour of the concert."..
