Ezemvelo seeks an end to scandal
Last year was full of dark clouds for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife - a year the provincial authority would rather forget, acting CEO David Mabunda said yesterday. Suspended former CEO Bandile Mkhize was awarded a golden handshake of more than R1.5-million after he resigned in September, following charges of gross mismanagement.Investigations also reveal-ed executives had improperly benefited from massive pay increases, while contract workers' payments and a migration policy had not been negotiated in good faith.Mabunda spoke about his five-point plan to restore Ezemvelo's credibility, and said his strategy was "showing positive results".He conceded Ezemvelo had had to cancel contracts and re-advertise tenders due to poor performance.The recent tender process aimed at securing a helicopter service provider had been aborted after the providers could not meet requirements, Mabunda said...
