Before Pat Garrett shot him dead in 1881, someone shot Billy the Kid three years earlier while he was playing croquet with members of the Lincoln County Regulators. The photograph, taken when the legendary outlaw was 18, could be worth up to $5-million (R67-million), even though the tintype image was purchased for $2 at a Fresno junk shop in 2010.David McCarthy, senior numismatist at the dealer, said: "When we first saw the photograph, we were understandably sceptical - an original Billy the Kid photo is the Holy Grail of Western Americana."Hollywood actor Kevin Costner will narrate a two-hour National Geographic documentary on the discovery. It will air in the US on October 18. ..
